Sony AI Camera Control
A working Android prototype that connects a phone to a Sony RX100 VII over USB, bringing photography coaching, reviewed camera settings, and a RAW-to-Lightroom workflow together.
From phone to camera
The app reads the connected camera’s settings and makes proposed changes visible before they are applied. Photography coaching and capability checks sit alongside the wired camera workflow, with separate review steps for settings and the shutter.
Capture to edit
Physical tests on a Pixel and Sony RX100 VII verified shutter-speed changes, RAW capture, transfer to the phone, and import into Lightroom. The app keeps a local preview and lets the photographer share the original file.
A working prototype
The wired workflow is still being developed. Shutter control and RAW capture have been tested on the real camera; broader setting controls are being commissioned individually. A separate simulator makes the interface available for experimentation.
Built around the photograph
The goal is a shorter path from deciding how to shoot to editing the original image, with the phone handling guidance and handoff while the camera makes the photograph.
